A clear, structured reference for visa rules
All About Visas is a free, ad-supported reference site for travellers who want a fast answer about entry rules and a clear path to the document set they actually need.
What the site is
The Site is a static knowledge base built around two ideas. First, that visa requirements should be searchable in seconds rather than buried in long PDFs. Second, that once you know the category — visa-free, eVisa, visa on arrival, embassy visa — most of the practical preparation looks similar regardless of destination.
To support both ideas, the Site combines a passport-based visa map with a directory of countries and a library of structured guides. The map answers the "where can I go?" question. The directories answer the "what is the rule for this specific pair of passport and destination?" question. The guides cover the parts of the application that are largely the same everywhere.
What the site covers
- Global visa map — pick a passport, see colour-coded entry categories worldwide.
- Passport pages — for each passport, a list of destinations grouped by visa category with stay lengths.
- Destination pages — for each country, a list of passports grouped by entry rule.
- Guides — visa types, requirements checklists, planning, and interview prep.
- Blog — practical articles on documents, multi-country trips, transit, stay limits, refusals, and digital nomad permits.
How content is produced
Visa data on the Site is built from a structured dataset that is reviewed and rebuilt periodically. Written guides and blog posts are produced in-house and rewritten when the underlying rules or best practice change. Content goes through an editorial pass for clarity, factual accuracy at the time of publication, and consistency with the rest of the Site.
Because rules change frequently, every substantive page carries a "Last reviewed" date. We treat that date as a commitment to either re-confirm the page or note where it is now thin or out of date.
What the site is not
All About Visas is a reference resource. It is not a visa agency, not a government service, and not a legal practice. We do not file applications on your behalf, do not collect application fees, and do not provide legal advice. For the limits of what the Site can and cannot do, see our disclaimer.
For any actual application, the official immigration portal of the destination country is the canonical source. We always recommend confirming with that source before booking, paying, or travelling.
Who the site is built for
- Travellers planning a trip and trying to choose between destinations on visa friction.
- Digital nomads comparing routes that fit a remote-work lifestyle.
- Business travellers who need a quick check before agreeing to a meeting abroad.
- Travel agencies and consultants who want a reliable starting point when advising clients.
- Students and family travellers sorting out study or visit visas.
- Recent immigrants exploring the travel possibilities a new passport opens up.
Editorial principles
- Accuracy first. We verify against official sources where available and update when rules change.
- Plain language. Visa rules are dense; the Site is not.
- No fabricated specifics. Where exact figures (fees, processing times, income thresholds) vary or change, we describe the structure rather than invent numbers.
- Send people to the source. Wherever the canonical answer is on a government portal, we point there.
- Independence. Advertising on the Site does not influence editorial guidance.
How the site is funded
The Site is free to use and is supported by display advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense. Some ads may be personalised based on your browsing activity. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy set out what is collected and how to opt out of personalisation.
